How does your wound get healed ?

If you have an injury in your skin either superficial or deep , it takes time to heal , it depend on the depth of the wound .
If you have minor injury , Don't worry , it will take few days to heal without any complication.
But if you have deep wound , its severity depend on its depth and how far the wound reaches . Some wound may reach the tendons , ligaments or muscles. Only severe wounds can reach the blood vessels which is very dangerous .
Minor wounds may only need some antibiotic to prevent infection .

But how there is a new skin ?
The healing is reached through 4 stages : Hemostasis , Inflammation , Proliferation and Remodeling  .

1- Hemostasis

The blood clot (aggregate beside each other) to form a plug , the aim of this plug is to prevent bleeding .
Then this plug will dry and form solid layer which protect the body from infections .
This process takes from 2 to 5 days .

2- Inflammation

In this stage you feel tender and hot due to increase the blood flow to the area of wound .
The blood consists of white blood cells and red blood cells .
The white blood cells eat the germs which try to invade your body  and also eat the dead cells .
Red blood cells carry the oxygen which is very important to build new skin layer .
You may feel itchy due to release substances called histamines and interleukins .

3- Proliferation

The edges of the wound come close to each other to permit to new skin cells to be created through mitotic division .
The blood also brings the collagen to support the new skin layer .

4- Remodeling

It is the end stage in which the body immune system will cut and remove any skin fold above the new skin layer to prevent formation of the scar .

NB: you have to put local antibiotic to prevent infection .
You have to take a lot of vitamin C by eating a lot of green vegetables .
